Updated May 15, 2020 - On March 13, 2020, the Government of Canada issued a formal High-Level Warning (Level 3) to Canadians to Avoid Non-Essential International Travel. On March 14, they encouraged Canadians to return home as quickly as possible and we strongly support that recommendation. Here is what the Travel Health Insurance Association has to say about it. Canadians trying to get home should be sure to register with Global Affairs Canada as, depending on where you are, there may be government efforts underway to get Canadians home. You can register here.
At this time of crisis, it gives me great comfort to be partnered with an underwriter as financially strong as Manulife and an Assistance Company as sound as Active Care Management. Together, our team is doing everything we can to be there for you as we all weather this storm. Please expect longer wait times on our Assistance lines and longer service times for things like policy refunds and adjustments. We are all doing our best to maintain the best service levels possible.
Please follow the advice of Public Health Officials to help slow down the spread of the virus. Our health care system will be in a much better position to respond to our health care needs if we practice due diligence as a community. These practices should continue as provinces start to ease their restrictions and more businesses open to the public.
The following Questions and Answers will be updated regularly as events unfold. Please monitor frequently for updates and changes.
