This is the first page your client will see when they view the API. A short introduction message will display along with several buttons. Whether your client selects “Existing Quote” and enters their quote password (provided in the email they were sent) to revisit an existing quote or they select “New Quote” to start a new quotation, they will continue to the Eligibility page.

The eligibility requirements will appear and the person applying must enter their name and certify that each applicant (regardless of age) is eligible for the insurance.

The “About the Visitor(s)” page is where details about the applicant(s) and their trip are entered. The arrival date, effective date, expiry date, country of origin, visitor type, Canadian province, applicant 1 first name, last name and date of birth are all required fields. Required fields are denoted with a red asterisk (*). Many fields have tool tips providing a description or definition of that field. Date fields must be entered using the MMDDYYYY format or by using the calendar tool.

Your client has 3 options: 1. Individual – This is the default selection. One applicant is required, and individual rates will apply. If your client leaves “individual” selected but adds more than one applicant, the API will automatically apply companion rates. 2. Companion – Two to six applicants with companion rates (a companion discount is applied). 3. Family – Three to six applicants with family rates. The applicants must meet the definition of family. Clicking the Add Applicant button will

A tab will appear at the top for each applicant. The active tab will change to blue. Your client will need to pick the plan, coverage limit and deductible for each applicant. The premium and the description of the plan will appear. Your client will click the “Select” button to set their pick for their desired plan.

If a questionnaire is required for an applicant (e.g. for the Enhanced Plan age 60-85), the client will continue to the Medical Questionnaire page. They will need to answer “Yes” or “No” to all 5 medical questions for each applicant that requires a medical questionnaire. A maximum of two applicants that require a medical questionnaire can be included on the same quote. This page will be skipped if no applicant on the quote requires a questionnaire.

If there is a yes answer and the client clicks “Next”, they will see a pop-up advising them that the applicant is not eligible for the Enhanced plan. Clicking “Stay and make changes” will allow your client to modify their answers. Clicking “Proceed with Standard/Basic” will return your client to the Select a Plan page where they can select a different plan. (Note: your client can also select the Enhanced plan again and click “Continue” to return to the medical questionnaire).

This is the final page of the quote where your client will provide their contact information and send their request to be contacted to finalize the insurance. Your client will need to provide their contact information, their Canadian address and check the required checkboxes. Your client will click on the Send Request button. A pop-up will display informing your client that they will receive an email with the quote. You will be copied on this email.

After your client submits a quote, you (and the client) will receive the emailed quote. Included in this email will be a “quote password”. This unique password allows you to open the quote in the API. You can use the shortcut in the email by using the “clicking here” link. This will open your website page that has the API.
