The three unique workflows described above all share the same workflow once your client gets to the eligibility page. This is what your client will see as they navigate through the API quote.

1. After eligibility, your client will be on the About the Visitor(s) page. They will need to enter or confirm the travel dates, country of origin, visitor type, Canadian province, sponsor’s name (optional), and the name and date of birth for each applicant. The API supports individual, companion and family rates, just like TIPS, and allows up to 6 applicants per quote (a maximum of 2 applicants who require a medical questionnaire). Your client can remove an applicant by deleting their name and date of birth. All required fields are denoted with a red asterisk (*). Your client will click “View Plans” to continue to the next page in the API.
    

2. On the Select a Plan page, your client will select their plan, coverage limit and deductible. A tab will appear at the top for each applicant. The tab will change to a blue colour to show the currently selected applicant. Your client will need to select coverage for each applicant before they can continue to the next page in the API.
   
   Plans available for each applicant will appear in a separate container box with the plan name displayed in the red banner at the top of each container box. Within each box, the premium, plan description, available deductibles and coverage limits will appear. Important messages about certain coverage limits and deductibles will appear as red notes. Examples include the extra $50,000 of injury coverage on the $100,000 coverage limit for the Enhanced and Standard plans, or deductibles applying per claim on the Basic plan.
   
   Your client will need to press the “Select” button to pick for their desired plan. The button will change from white to blue and the text from Select to Selected. Your client will then click “Continue”.
    

3. If a medical questionnaire is required for an applicant (Enhanced plan for ages 60 to 85), your client will end up on the Medical Questionnaire page. A maximum of two applicants that require a medical questionnaire can be included on the same quote. This page will be skipped if no applicant on the quote requires a medical questionnaire.
   
   After providing their answers, the client will need to complete the “Medical Declaration Responses” fields by entering their names, their relationship to the applicant (e.g., self, son, daughter, etc.) and will need to declare that the information provided is correct.
   
   If your client has a yes answer in the medical questionnaire making them ineligible and they click the “Continue” button, they will see a pop-up advising them that the applicant is ineligible for the selected plan. Clicking “Stay and make changes” will allow your client to return to the medical questionnaire and modify their answers. Clicking “Proceed with Standard/Basic” will return your client to the Select a Plan page where they can pick a different plan. (Note: your client can also select the Enhanced plan again and click “Continue” to return to the medical questionnaire).
    

4. Your client is now on the final page of the quote called the Request to be Contacted page. Your client will need to provide their contact information, their Canadian address and check the required checkboxes:

   • “Your First Name and Last Name” – These fields will automatically populate with the name that was entered on the eligibility page but can be changed.

   • “Select how you would like to be contacted by the agent” – Your client can select email, phone call, or both as their preferred contact method. Their selection will be indicated in the emailed quote.

   • “Canadian Address” – The data entered in these fields will be used on the saved quote and will appear on the policy confirmation. The Phone 1 and Email fields will automatically populate to match what was entered under “Your Contact Information” but can be changed.

   • Monthly Payment Plan – Your client can check this optional box to request the Monthly Payment Plan. Checking this box will automatically set Monthly Credit Card Payment as the Payment Type when you open the quote in the API or in TIPS. This checkbox will only appear if the quote qualifies for the Monthly Payment Plan.

   • Collection of Personal Information – Your client will need to check this box authorizing that the information entered in the quote can be captured and shared with certain necessary parties.

   • Quote Information – Your client will need to check this box to indicate that they understand that the quote is subject to change and there is no valid coverage in place until the appropriate premium is paid.
      

5. Your client will click on the Send Request button. A pop-up will display informing your client that they will receive an email with the quote. You will receive an email with the quotation details, quote number and quote password.
